Original. The painting is inspired by the mountains near Alma and Fairplay, Colorado. I often find myself painting and thinking of the mountains. Our life is not perfect, it is riddled with darkness and broken people. But it can still be illuminated with color and light by the people, memories, and adventures surrounding us.

It is while watching the color changes of the sky against the mountains that I am reminded of this…the way the clouds move, casting shadows along it’s slopes…and the way everything just seems to be more alive. It is almost as if the mountains breathe with us.
